London has some of the biggest and most important museums in the world, and it’s also the city this the most museums per capita. So, if you have a bit of time, or if you are tired of walking under the rain, you should stop and take a look and some of these art collections. Even more than the major museums are free, so there is no excuse not to stop by!!
In London, lots of places are dedicated or are named after a battle.
Trafalgar square is one: this big and famous place has the name of a big battle the British won against the French and the Spanish. But besides the famous name, the square doesn’t hold much interest for tourists. Fountains, a column where a statue of Lord Nelson stands, one of the main actors during the battle. This square is where Londoners gather for their demonstrations.
Another place is Wellington Arch, commemorating wars won over Napoleon. This triumphal arch is located on the southeast corner of Hyde Park and after paying a fee you may visit the inside and learn about the details of its construction.
